Aging and other factors contribute to under eye bags, and while you may have considered facial plastic surgery to resolve them, you may want to consider some non-surgical options first.
Non-Surgical Options to Reduce Under Eye Bags
For puffy eyes, we offer a few different non-surgical treatments which offer amazing results. Which treatment(s) is right for you? We will determine this together during your personalized consultation in one of our Scottsdale or Chandler medical spa locations.
Dermal Fillers
It may seem counterintuitive to add a thin gel into an area which already appears to be protruding, but dermal filler strategically placed in the tear trough area can reduce the appearance of under eye bags.
When the trough area is filled using a thin hyaluronic acid injectable, the sagging “bags” are lifted and tightened, providing a youthful, tight appearance without the hollow look.
Another option is to fill the cheek area with a hyaluronic acid injectable, which can tighten loose, sagging skin due to volume loss. This is part of a procedure we call a Liquid Facelift, which takes a multi-site approach to injectable fillers for full facial rejuvenation.
Skin Tightening
Radiofrequency energy for non-surgical skin tightening can also help with under eye bags by addressing the sagging, crepey nature of the skin. The skin is very thin and frail, so it’s easily damaged, creased, and inflamed. We can tighten the skin under and above the eye as well as a full facial skin tightening using Thermage or RF Microneedling, which combines radiofrequency energy and microneedling (more on microneedling below).
Fraxel Laser Treatments
While Fraxel won’t flatten the fat pads under your eyes, it can address skin damage in the under eye area leading to sagging and lines. Skin texture is important when addressing any area of concern, and the thin, delicate nature of the under eye area makes it particularly necessary to improve skin quality and health.
Plasma Pen
The Plasma Pen is a revolutionary, fast acting treatment which can address under eye bags very quickly. It uses electrostatic energy to trigger collagen and elastin production, improving skin texture and tightness. The device is incredibly effective at addressing under eye bags.
Microneedling
Another amazing collagen stimulating treatment, microneedling offers wonderful results in the under eye area. Dark circles and bags can both be treated using this procedure, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy.
A bonus is that microneedling also treats lines and other skin imperfections, acting as a sort of skin peel as it triggers cellular turnover.
